There was a time where I thought I’d become a late night talkshow host. Yes, that’s right. As a kid I was that much of a narcissist.
This desire was before understanding how the entertainment industry works, how cut throat it can be, and how much sacrifice really goes into making it. At that point in my life I was much more interested in playing video games.
And yet the desire still lingered. But I understood it better. It wasn’t that I wanted to have a personal band and to tell mediocre jokes about current events. Although I’m sure that was part of it.
What was truly pushing me towards being a talkshow host was a fascination with people. I want to know more about them. I want to understand why they do what they do, where they come from, and what they dream about doing next.
So Creative Block was born. As owner of Media Lab I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many great people. Within Calgary there are so many interesting artists and entrepreneurs. And sometimes they can be both.
What I get to do now is fulfill that dream I once had. I’m interviewing different people to understand them better. And as a new entrepreneur myself I get to learn from their mistakes and successes. What I hope is that listeners will also learn a little something as well.
The podcast launches on August 14 and will be available on the website once it goes live!
